SYMBIAN ANNA v7.5 FOR NOKIA 5230 RM-588,5530,5800 n X6

A complete step by step guide to flash your mobile and install new Symbian OS in your phone

Note: 1.Either you can flash through "Phoenix Service Software" or "J.A.F. Tool".The steps below are implementing  "J.A.F. Tool" to flash.

2.I am explaining how to install Symbian Anna in Nokia 5230 RM-588.You can repeat it for Nokia 5530,5800 and X6.You just have to download separate CFW's for each.
3.Make sure you have PC suite installed that can detect your phone.

Required Softwares:

1. Symbian Anna v7.5 Custom Firmware (Click here to download) for Nokia 5230.
2. J.A.F. Tool with PKEY Emulator (Click here to download) for Windows Vista and XP.
    J.A.F. 1.98.62 with PKEY emulator (Click here to download) for Windows 7.

Steps:

Before starting take backup of your memory card and format it via phone.No need to format phone memory.Now remove the memory card from phone and follow the steps given below:

1. Create directory "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-594" and copy all the custom firmware files in that folder(includes .fpsx,.bin,etc files)

2.Install J.A.F. Tool in your PC and copy.Now copy the "jaf_nok4models.ini" present in the J.A.F. archive you downloaded into "C:\Program Files\ODEON\JAF" so that it should overwrite the original one.

3. After that,open "OGM_JAF_PKEY_Emulator_v 5" present in the archive and click "GO" button.(Vista and 7 users run this file as administrator).

4. You will get an dialog box showing "Error:BOX DRIVER NOT INSTALLED" .Click OK

5. Now select "BB5" tab.

    Check on "Manual Flash","Dead USB".Uncheck "CRT 308"

6.Check "Use INI" and select.A dialog box will pop up.Select "RM-594" there as shown in the image(in case of Nokia 5230 RM-588 and RM-594...for other models you can use the respective numbers).

7. Now all set for flashing.Switch off the phone which is connected to PC through data cable and click "FLASH" button in JAF.A warning box will pop up,click "Yes".

8. After some time we will be asked for switching ON the phone then switch it ON.

9. Wait till the process completes(until “Done!” appears in the JAF “Status and Results” window)


10.Disconnect the phone and switch it OFF.Remove and reinsert the battery and switch it ON.Here's your flashed phone with new Symbian Anna.


NOTE:


1.Flashing a phone is very dangerous.You may brick your phone or may cause any damage so try it on your own risk.It also voids the company's warranty.

2.If phone is acting weirdly(frequent hangs,restarts,etc.) after flashing you need to hard reset it.Type *#7370# and select yes in your phone.It will format the phone.99% of problems are solved by this way.

3.In case of 5230 the model no. will be changed to 5235.Well it doesn't matters anyway.
